The Ash & Maple Console Table
The gorgeous flowing grain of the hand crafted double-live edge Ash top were paired with the symmetry and chaos of spalted & figured Maple.
All of the stock used for this was sourced from Habitat Restore and a collection of Ash, Birch and Maple from the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona, WI.
Checks and cracks were few and I was able to stabilize and fill with epoxy. The table has 2 live edges; the rear live edge had some softness I had to remove and stabilize as well.
Rubio Monocoat Pure was used as the finish. All of the work is done in our family’s woodshop just beyond the Terminal Moraine in Cross Plains, WI.
